I was also right about the curves on the edges. Note the top of the screen and its dramatic curves and also near the track pad that features no click button.

After wyjawieniu problem with graphics systems, which are based on cards with GeForce 8600M GT, the majority of companies offering these cards in their computers, guaranteed free repair faults. For this group of the company joined Apple, which offers free repair of all notebooks in a series of MacBook Pro with faulty graphics cards, even if you do not already covered by the warranty.

Nvidia already signed up a special fund from which they derived the money to repair defective systems - now at hand, Apple does not draw well.

SAN FRANSISCO - Pada 14 Oktober mendatang, Apple akan mengumumkan produk notebook terbaru mereka. Kabarnya, produk baru itu adalah model terbaru MacBook dan MacBook Pro.

MacBook Pro yang terbaru mungkin tidak terlalu spektakuler dari pada yang sebelumnya. Kasing baru, dengan mini-DVI port, dan baterai pendukung yang kuat, menjadi spesifikasi dari MacBook Pro tersebut. Namun, sayangnya tidak ada tambahan khusus yang membuat notebook ini 'wah' dari seri sebelumnya.

Seperti yang dilansir Mac Inspector, Minggu (12/10/2008), beredar rumor yang menyebutkan bahwa untuk menggenjot pemasukan dari MacBook, ada kemungkinan harga ini akan turun pada kisaran harga USD800.

Jika kabar itu benar, ini menjadi kabar yang bagus bagi insan kampus di berbagai dunia, yang selama ini sebagian besar menggunakan perangkat keras dari HP dan Dell. Dengan Mac OS X yang masih berjalan 'lembut' dan stabil, harga MacBook yang murah menjadi nilai point plus Apple di pasaran.

I just love the autumn light. Days are so beautiful right now. Apart from a gray weekend, we've had beautiful weather, and the promise is for several more days of warming.

I'm taking Thursday off to paint. Several artists are going up to Sanitas Mountain, just outside Boulder. I'm excited, but nervous. It will be the first time for me to paint with the new brushes. I've been using knives for about two years, so adjustments will definitely need to be made.I'm sure to paint a piece of junk, but a day in the mountains is better than a day at work.

I once saw ghost footprints. It was in an industrial bakery where I worked. We made hamburger buns for the most famous clown in the world. Of course, flour floated everywhere and got into and onto everything, most notably, the floor. I was at the end of the baking line, where the pans were moved from one conveyor onto another. On the floor, I noticed small footprints, about the size of a six or seven year old kid's feet. It was an eerie thing and I have no explanation. I dont believe the spirits of the dead roam the earth or "haunt" places. I do believe some things happen that cant be explained. I've heard lots of stories from trustworthy friends about strange things they've experienced.

It is finally here and all our questions will be answered, hopefully. Apple will be having its "spotlight turns to notebooks" event tomorrow at Cupertino Town Hall. It is an invite only event so don't try to just walk in. There have been many rumors about a new MacBook or MacBook Pro. Will that be or will there be some sort of completely new step for Apple? We are also hoping the "Brick" rumors will be answered. Apple hasn't let us down yet. Engadget and Gizmodo will be holding a liveblog for the event.

Apple is hosting another keynote tomorrow focusing on notebook computers. No one knows what is going to be released. Many think it is going to be a new curved body similar to the MacBook Air. Others think it will be a screwless molded aluminum body. What are your predictions?

I personally think they might come out with a Mac tablet!

On the eve of Apple's launch of their next generation of MacBooks, Fortune has posted a collection of photos detailing the evolution of Apple notebooks, from 1989 to the present. Mac Rumors is the site to visit for the latest pre-release speculation.

Likely changes to the product lines include:

• Single-cut aluminum cases for both MacBooks and MacBook Pros.
• A starting price of ~$800 for low-end MacBooks.
• Enhanced graphics via migration to NVIDIA chips.
• Blu-ray support.
• Release of a networked HDTV (unlikely).

* The change in nomenclature from "laptop" to "notebook" was prompted by early efforts to increase processor speeds and allow portable computers to act as desktop replacements. While this change allowed consumers to forgo the purchase of a desktop computer and set aside more money for their laptops, (formerly a secondary luxury for the traveling business person or software professional), a key side-effect was increased heat generated by the faster, more powerful processors. Powerbooks, and then early MacBook Pros, got so hot that customers complained of burning and blisters on their legs when they used their portable computers on their laps for extended periods.

To minimize the risk of lawsuits and to discourage people using these computers on their laps, the industry as a whole changed the nomenclature used when describing these products. Instead of "laptops," portable computers are now exclusively referred to as "notebooks." Different name, same thing.

("Netbooks," is an even younger term denoting a subset of portable computer that weighs in at around two pounds, has a max screen size of ten inches, a weaker, more energy efficient processor, no built-in media drive (CD/DVD), and is meant to be extremely portable, inexpensive, and primarily used for accessing the Internet while on the road. The Asus Eee PC 4G was the first netbook to make a splash, but they have been so successful that nearly all major netbook manufacturers will be offering their own netbook by the end of 2008).

Of course, there are plenty of sub-$1000 laptops on the market already - you can buy Dell's Inspiron line at prices from $499 up, and if you're willing to compromise down to the "netbook" level of machine, with a 9-inch screen, you can find pricing under $400. But those cheaper machines are not, of course, Macs.

As a happy Mac owner already, the new price point isn't much of a temptation to me - we've already got two MacBooks in the office, and being developers, we're unlikely to go for a low-end notebook in any case. But I wonder whether it will contribute significantly to Apple's ever-growing share of the laptop market.

I ended up ordering online from HP because I wanted a computer with what I wanted on it. I wanted it to be a good fast computer and able to hold all of my files. So I went through their website and customized the computer how I wanted it. The only problem is that I really wanted a pink computer but Sony and Dell were the only ones that offered the color options. I don't like Dell because of previous experiences and Sony was way to expensive. They are very nice computers, but not for my budget. So I just ordered a plain colored HP, but then later found that there are skins to put on top of the computer. So I ordered one, but somehow ended up with something different than pink. There were soo many options and so much cheaper than spending $500 or more just to have a pink computer. Plus these come on and off easily so when I get tired of the one I have I can order a different one! So I am very satisfied!

So there is another one off my list! I seem to be on a roll here lately. I think things will start slowing down from here though, but from now on they will be posted courtesy of my laptop. :)

The most impressive idea so far is from Andy Crouch. Cultivation and creation go hand-in-hand. Andy was specifically referring to the Church, but the principle can be applied to other areas as well.  And a few questions came to mind.

• Are churches cultivating the good that already exists in their communities?
• Are schools cultivating the natural abilities of their students?
• Are parents cultivating the good habits their children have already developed? (and not just harping on the ones they don't have yet)
• Are couples cultivating the good things in their relationship rather just trying to great new things to keep the fire alive?

It seems to me that cultivation must be the partner of creation. If we do not cultivate, our creation will just waste away. If we do not create, we will stagnate.

What in my life do I need to cultivate?

This time, the UK government has lost 'up to 1.7m personal details'. These details were stored on a disk drive which was unlikely to have been encrypted.

I wanted to investigate this a little more, so after a few searches on google, I found these dates on which data has been lost before:

All of these losses are appalling, but the ones which are particularly shocking and dangerous are the Terror Documents and the Justice Staff Details. If these fall in to the wrong hands, some particularly bad things could happen.

From the dates of these data losses it appears that this is now becoming a monthly occurence.

I imagine that this year at Christmas time, cards will be sent out stating: 'Merry Christmas, We've Lost Your Details!'.

Now, because I had started and finished the essay in one fell swoop I had made the massive schoolboy error of not bothering to remember to hit the save button. This mistake was about to be painfully regretted for as I stretched out my arms I knocked the wire of my bedside lamp causing it to topple over onto a glass of orange squash that was perched on my computer desk (you can see where this is going). The orange juice wobbled and before I had chance to say "oh deary me" it fell right on top of my open laptop.

There was a fizz and then the whole thing turned off.

I called my parents in tears, panicking down the phone that I could never afford a whole new laptop. My dad calmed me down and told me not to worry because he had extended the house insurance to cover me whilst I was at university because he knew how clumsy I could be.

Thankfully for me, because my laptop was covered under my parents' home insurance policy I got a brand new one. Unfortunately for my essay it could not be recovered and I had to type it out again on my friend's computer. Needless to say I felt terrible the next day from lack of sleep but never the less I did make it to the 12 o clock deadline.

As I now own my own home I have realised the importance of finding good home cover. Not because I think I am ever going to need it, just because I know that I am going to have to make a payment every month and that if something ever does happen I want to make sure my payments are worth it.
I have started looking online for the best type of cover. It's easy to compare prices and rates online and I have realised that with the amount of choice out there, there is no doubt that I wont be able to save myself money and get a better deal so when I send my kids to university, they can spill as much orange juice as they like.

Though replacement cost is 10 percent more expensive as compared to Actual cash value, keeping in mind that things depreciate fast, this is a very wise move. The reimbursement you get on replacement cost is the same as the current cost of your computer and not the petty depreciated cost you would get with actual cash value policy.

Coverage for Laptop and portable computer
Laptop and portable computers are considered personal possessions away from home under the homeowners or renter’s policy. Thus, they are also covered under this policy. However, there is a dollar limit on personal possession that are stolen or damaged away from home.

Computers don’t only get covered under the homeowners or renter’s policy. A number of insurance companies offer individual insurance policies for computers as well. It is important to remember that when you buy a computer insurance policy you must retain the receipt of the policy as well as that of the computer and its peripherals very carefully.

Computer insurance is vital for students, business professionals, small business owners, schools, home users with heavy usage and many more people who use computers for their critical applications. Computer insurance does not cover certain items such as maintenance costs, electrical or mechanical breakdown, wear and tear, fraud and dishonesty, consequential loss, and loss or damage caused by sonic bangs. However, they are well covered under the warranty/extended warranty of the equipment.
